FAIRBURN COMMUNITY CENTRE PLATINUM JUBILEE

The Community Centre Committee is considering what celebrations to put in place on one of the bank holidays in early June, preferably Friday 3rd at the moment, so we don’t clash with any potential street parties that residents might want to organise. We have been in discussions with the Parish Council and thought we might be able to harness support and some participation from local organisations connected with the village.

Here’s a list of potential contributors, who might be able to join in with organising activities: –
– Community Centre Team
– Fairburn Parish Council
– Fairburn Cricket Club
– Fairburn Primary School
– Fairburn Coffee Morning Club
– Fairburn Singers
– Keep Fit
– Any Local Businesses – Food Providers
– Indoor Bowls

We aim to contact the RSPB to see if they might want to be involved, local pubs, although that might pose some conflicts. We would like to have cricket / football taking place along with stalls/marquees, bouncy castle/games perhaps, outside weather permitting, live music if possible and maybe a DJ in the evening. All these are just provisional at the moment, and subject to a table discussion with any interested parties.

This is not a fundraiser, the Community Centre, in conjunction with the Parish Council are considering making a financial contribution if there is sufficient local interest.

If you or your organisation are keen to participate, please let us know so that we can arrange a meeting of interested parties. Please email us at fairburncommunitycentre@btinternet.com
