The present community centre committee comprises a committee of 7 persons, 4 members being Managing Trustees and 3 being Representative Trustees.
The Management Committee has the Fairburn Parish Council as their Custodian Trustees, the Parish Council are also the land owners for the site.
The Management Committee work closely with the local Primary School and make the recreation field and centre available to them free of charge subject to availability.
The Management Committee lease off part of the recreation ground to the Fairburn Cricket Club who pay a nominal rent and maintain the cricket ground and surrounding areas close by. The recreation field has a cricket pavilion and score box that the club maintain and have recently improved.

The provision and maintenance of the community centre and recreation field for the benefit of the inhabitants of Fairburn and the immediate neighbourhood. The provision of physical exercise, training, meetings and lectures, and such other forms or types of leisure-time activities to improve the Health & Wellbeing of the inhabitants of Fairburn.
Summary of the main activities in relation to these objects
To manage and maintain the local community centre, children’s playground and recreation field, including the cricket and football pavilion. The community centre management committee carry out fundraising activities throughout the year to sustain these village amenities for the inhabitants of Fairburn and surrounding community.

The community centre and recreation field are an important focal point for the village and are extremely well maintained.
There are numerous weekly activities

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
This year we have continued to make improvements to the centre.
The committee has lost some members due to individuals moving out of the village, but we are actively looking to increase membership to comply with the constitution.
The events committee continue to come up with new inventive ideas and initiatives for raising funds for the centre. Most recent fundraising activities were a Live Music Night and a forthcoming Quiz Night.
The children’s playground has had its annual inspection and some maintenance work has been carried out
Parts of the centre have been redecorated again. A number of improvements have been made to the electrics and external lighting equipment.
Financial review
Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
The charities policy is to maintain a working capital of approximately £10,000 for the purposes of maintaining the buildings and recreation field, Children’s Playground and fences and boundary walls. Any remaining funds are working capital, to be used to make on-going improvements to the premises as outlined below. The present capital balance is around £23,000.

Source of Funding
Regular rent income from the activities outlined in “Objectives and Activities” section, fundraising events throughout the year to provide additional funds, these enable the committee to carry out ongoing improvements to the premises and recreation field.

Other optional information
This year the management committee has made a number of significant improvements to the premises. Contributions from the Local Parish Council have enabled us to replace and upgrade the heating arrangements at the community centre converting the original electrical heaters to a new gas fired space boiler.
